OVERVIEW
Adelaide Capital Investments (ACI) seeks to acquire and operate medium-sized businesses or enter succession plans with owners of medium-sized businesses planning to gradually reduce day-to-day management and divest the business.

Integration: ACI’s principal, Michael Platt, will join the business as an operator and/or advisor and partner with the existing Management Team.

Aspiration: ACI aspires to build on the value that business owners have created, while ensuring that customers continue to be supported and employees are protected.

Personal Investment: Michael has assembled a syndicate of investors and will make a significant personal investment to fund the acquisitions and/or succession plans.

PRINCIPAL & ANALYSTS

Experienced Utilities/Energy Management Consultant and Lawyer: As a former management consultant and corporate tax lawyer (predominately engaged in the utilities and energy industries), Michael has a unique combination of consulting, managerial, and legal skills. Today, Michael is the CEO of CARMA Corp., a leading submetering provider in Canada. Prior to joining CARMA and launching ACI, Michael was a Manager at Monitor Deloitte, an international management consulting firm. Michael led numerous corporate strategy engagements in the utilities and energy industries, including the development of business growth strategies and the evaluation of corporate portfolios. Prior to joining Monitor Deloitte, Michael was a corporate tax lawyer in the Tax Group at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, a national law firm. Michael advised on M&A, corporate reorganizations, and financings, primarily in the energy and mining industries.

Education: Michael received his LLB and BA degrees from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Personal: Michael enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and travelling.
